Performing Arts Centre

The Emerald Performing Arts Centre was completed in 2011 with assistance from Commonwealth and State Government funding. The Performing Arts Centre caters for the students of the College and for community groups. The Emerald Performing Arts Centre is available for public hire, when not required for academic purposes, at the discretion of the College. The Venue is ideally suited to a wide variety of dramatic, dance and music performances as well as talks and guest speakers.

The stage is 14m x 8m and is based on a Harlequin Activity Sprung Floor System including the Harlequin Cascade surface. (The downstage metre of stage and the wings are Harlequin Cascade without the sprung floor system).

Curtain and lighting bars are dead hung. There are three on stage lighting bars and three front-of-house bars. Curtains comprise a french-action red house curtain, two sets of black tab curtains, two sets of legs and borders and a filled white cloth cyclorama.

The Emerald Performing Arts Centre is located near the entry gate to Emerald Secondary College at 425 Belgrave-Gembrook Road Emerald. On-site parking for patrons is available outside school hours.

The Emerald Performing Arts Centre has a raked seating configuration of 7 rows of 29 seats and 2 rows of 25 seats (total 253 seats). Additional seating can be provided to a total of 308 seats without encroaching on the stage area. An audience position for one wheelchair is also available.

The Emerald Performing Arts Centre is well stocked with lighting and sound equipment. A full list of equipment is provided in the Hirer’s Pack. Please contact the theatre manager for more information.

EPAC is available in full performance mode at rehearsal and performance rates for a minimum four hour hire. Hourly hire in presentation mode (pre-set lighting, sound and data projector without access to the bio-box) is also available. Reduced rates are available for local primary schools, other government schools and charities.
